Final Friday at Arabian US Nationals

Arabian Nationals Final Friday night event presented by Equine Athlete Veterinary Services

Each year, the Arabian US National Show provides a venue for the Arabian Horsemen’s Distress Fund’s biggest fund raising effort. This year it all happens during an event christened, “The Stars Come Out at Night”, on Friday October 25th at Tulsa's Expo Square.

Presented by Equine Athlete Veterinary Services, the “Stars” session features a jam-packed schedule of big-money, highly-competitive classes. During this extravaganza, the Arabian English Performance Association, the Arabian Western Pleasure Association and the Arabian Hunter Pleasure Association will hold their Futurity classes, each with major prize money on the line. In addition, the Senior Mare Halter class (for the first time ever) will offer $25,000.00 in prize money.

Spectators are invited to join in the “Stars” fun by participating in the Calcutta’s – silent auctions held in the days preceding the classes and a live auction on Friday night, where the general public can bid on who they think will win each class .

How exactly do these Calcutta’s work?

  • Immediately after the Monday, October 21st semi-finals of each class, silent auction bidding sheets will be posted outside of the Ford Truck Arena listing each horse-rider or horse-handler pair who will be advancing to the Friday Night Stars Come Out At Night Futurity National Championships, and the horses and handlers for the Stars Come Out At Night Senior Mare Halter National Championship.

  • Place bids on who you think will win each class.

  • On Friday afternoon, October 25th, silent auction bidding will be closed.

  • Friday evening immediately preceding each class, Bill Addis of Addis Auction, Inc. will open live bidding in the Ford Truck Arena, using the high bid from the silent auction as a starting point for each pair.

  • The highest Calcutta bidder for each horse-rider team wins that pair, after which the class will commence.

  • The Calcutta bid winners for the National and Reserve National Champion pairs in each class will take home AMAZING prizes.

  • The money raised from the Calcutta will be split between each class prize money program and the AHDF, with 75% going to the AHDF, and 25% returning to the pot for the following year's events. Anything over the wholesale value of whatever is received as prizes will be completely tax deductible. Best of all, participants will have had "Fun for The Fund" and supported a very special effort that make the Arabian horse community second to none!
