New Horse for Fort Hood, Texas!

Bob and Becky Nash have hauled horses to lot's of places but when they hitched up a trailer last week, it wasn't a horse trailer, but it was a a full-sized Arabian. They were on their way to deliver, "Hero"...destination, Fort Hood! The fact that the drive there and back would pretty much eat up a day, shows the kind of commitment that Becky and Bob have for promoting the Arabian horse. Statue delivery is just one of the many tasks Becky handles as the chair of the Arabian MDP committee which she has been a part of for the past five years. Compared to some, Becky and her husband Bob are relative newcomers to the horse scene, but since the time they first discovered Arabian horses their involvement and commitment to giving back and sharing their passion is impressive!

After many months of planning it was exciting to finally be on the road and to hand Hero off to CSM John Reed (ret), of Fort Hood and the "go-to" person on the Fort Hood project.
Hero's mission is to bring awareness to and in support of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies for Veterans and their families and we're proud to have Elizabeth Shatner's The All Glory Project on board to help with this effort!

Each Arabian Horse for Humanity statue needs an artist and Hero's is the first that will be chosen by competition! Entries are open to anyone fitting the qualifications. Those that may compete in the project are: active duty military, veterans, spouses of veterans, immediate family of veterans and first-responders within a thirty mile radius of Fort Hood or currently stationed at Fort Hood (additional rules and details are included on the Fort Hood-Hero page on our website).

While the competition is on-going, Hero is stationed in the lobby of the 3d Cavalry Regiment Headquarters Building where he is already generating a lot of interest! Once an artist is chosen and the statue painted, it is hoped it will be unveiled in early July.
