The Arabian Horses for Humanity board of directors and AHA Region 9 are very proud and excited to announce this alliance with Ft. Hood Army base in Texas! AHA Region 9 gifted the statue—christened Hero For Humanity— to Ft. Hood which was accepted on behalf of the base by the 3d US Cavalry Association, a nonprofit that supports the 3d Cavalry Regiment.
The Association is inviting interested individuals from Ft. Hood (see qualifications below) to submit designs for painting the statue with a theme that reflects the mission of Hero—raising awareness for the benefit of equine-assisted therapy for veterans and their families. The winning entry will be awarded $1,000 upon completion of the project and the completed statue will be displayed by the Third Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood in addition to being featured in social media and other promotional campaigns.
Qualifications –Open to Ft. Hood Active Duty Military, Veterans, Spouses of Veterans, Immediate Family of Veterans and First Responders within a 30 mile radius of Fort Hood or others currently stationed at Fort Hood.
